Cirque Peak Jan 25 2009
Today Heather, Chad, Max and I went for a little tour on the Icefields Parkway. We left Canmore at 7:00 am and it was a bomby -32 degrees. Out on the parkway it was not much warmer but once we were moving it was great. We had a pleasant skin up in very variable snow conditions, as we approached the ridge the wind picked up to about 50 km/hr. Needless to say it got very cold very fast I have a few photos that will illustrate the wind affect but it does not show how cold it was. Had a great day out.

Jan 20 2009 Weeping Wall
Climbed on the weeping wall today. YES today after the 14 people on route yesterday we had the whole place to our self's today. I think that there was a reason for that the climbing was wet, soft, and just plain hot. The temp must have be hovering around +8 at the base for the wall in the direct sun I was wet from the water and the sweat. We climbed the first pitches right, left and sniveling gully.
Jan 19 2009 Professor Falls
Climbed Professor falls on a Monday morning and we were the first ones on the climb. After hitching a ride down the golf course road we were off to a good start. We hit the base of the climb in good time. Soon after there was another party that following us and soon after a few more people and more people, with a grand total of 14 on the route for the day. WOW.
Route in good shape a little wet in the middle few pitches, the last pitch was in great shape and dry.

Jan 17 2009 The Lookout
I can not believe that we were rock climbing with just long sleeve shirts on Jan 17. It was an awesome day out on the rock we went up racked and ready to bolt routes but due to the hot temps we could not resist the temptation of the rock. We had the oppertunity to climb some of the routes that we bolted in the fall.
Life in the Bow Valley is an ever changing adventure and we are living the dream and jumping on the opportunity that the weather will give us.

J
What a day to be out on the Icefields park way. The sun was shining and the temps were well above zero (6.9 degrees) while climbing I was wondering weather my picks would melt out while climbing.
I spent some time taking a few artistic photos and very few climbing photos even though we climbed a lot that day.
